If the name is not clear, you may need to use a professional dealer or auction house to attribute the artwork.

They can be dealers in antique maps or Japanese woodblock prints. Galleries that are members of the Fine Art Trade Guild are bound by a code of ethics. Leonardo Da Vinci is considered one of, if not the greatest artists of all time by many. At the onset of the 20th century, artists began producing their fine art prints in limited editions so that each work would retain its value over time.

When editions are small, the individual artworks in the edition are more rare—and, as a result, more expensive.

These works tend to be categorized as mere reproductions rather than prints of fine art. An artists proof is a limited run that the artist can sell themselves and are considered quite valuable.

Every print in a limited edition is numbered, usually in pencil at the bottom of the print, which is vital for determining the value of a print. The denominator the bottom number in the fraction will show you how many prints were printed in one edition. The upper number numerator will show you when each print was created during the run.

As far as print run numbers are concerned, the rule is simple: the smaller the number, the bigger the value. Like all artworks, fine art prints are more valuable when they are hand-signed by the artist. Often times, artists will pull several of a trial proof at a certain state indicated by state numbers, such as Vessel II, 3rd State, to the left , before moving on.

To enter historic data, first set the date of the row. If you want to add multiple historic entries you do not need to worry about the order of the dates. You cannot enter a date later than the most recent current entry for this Edition Number. After all, this is for inserting old information in the History, not to change the current situation.

Adding historic data will never change any current data for the Edition Number. For instance: If you add historic data that marks the Edition Number as Sold, this will not set the current data to Sold!
